Thanks to John over at Plastic Legions, I got to snag this pic of our Mighty Empires Campaign. Thanks to the last two massacres, I was able to initiate a bunch of challenges and stuff. Land Grab meant that I could pick an additional tile (though not the mountain tiles as I had wanted to grab), but the Wood Elves got to select one of the first events. And they selected Scouts! We challenged the Dwarfs, and so I got to deploy after my opponent, Billy, and I was guaranteed the first turn.
Little did I know that it would be to no avail.

I got a digi cam for Christmas.
Here’s some quick pics of stuff I’ve been working on. I know they aren’t great, I just snapped off some stuff.
These aren’t quite finished - still need to highlight the bases, paint the boots, waffenfarbe, cuff titles, etc.
Comments and criticism on the minis and the photos is appreciated.

I took a few shots last night to illusrate a chick-style jump pack on Dakka [March 2007], but while I was at it I snapped off a few more since I’m pretty happy with the way this one turned out. You guys have seen this on the bench in the “Wha completed now?” thread but you haven’t seen her walk the runway with dramatic lighting before!

Fought a battle with my Wood Elves vs. Bill’s Army of Sylvania. I didn’t know what I was getting into. It was my first experience with “The summoning army” and so my “tactics” were pretty useless.
We played the Mighty Empires round and I selected the Land Grab event. This, as it turned out, was a very good idea (more on this later).
I don’t have the army lists. Instead I’ll try to make sure it’s clear what’s happening based on my limited memory of the events.
Yeah, this is going to be one bad battle report.
In case you didn’t know, the Army of Sylvania is a Vampire Counts “sub-list” that does a particularly good job of summoning hordes of skeletons and zombies to create insanely large blocks of infantry on the table.
I had no idea what this meant in terms of gameplay…

Waywatchers deploy as scouts into a wood. I briefly consider charging the Dire Wolves in the flank, but don’t want to lose a turn shooting to a failed fear check. They fire some shots at the Black Coach (it sure looks like an Orc chariot, doesn’t it?) but do no damage. Everyone else marches/moves up the table, while the rest of my archers (there are two units of glade guard, 11 and 12 strong with my level 4 wizard leading the former.

I’ll be painting these bounty hunters this month (april 2007). I’ll enter whichever is best (or in the case I don’t get through them all, whichever is finished will go in).
A hard-as-nails, scum sucking mutie hunter known as “Jonny Ess”.
