Here, lets just make complete mockery of him while we are at it.

I celebrate mediocrity, and sing myself,
And what I shall be unremarkable you shall be unremarkable,
For every sloth belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loaf and invite my soul,
I lean and loaf at my ease observing the ordinary.
My tongue, every atom of my blood, formed from this substandard soil, this routine air,
Born here of unexceptional parents born here from parents the same, and their parents the same,
I, now thirty-seven years old in pathetic health begin,
Hoping to cease not till death.
Creeds and schools in abeyance,
Retiring back awhile sufficed at their average merit, but never forgotten,
I harbor for good or bad, I permit to speak at every hazard,
Formulaic and undistinguished nature without check with original lethargy.

Jeez, amazing how a few adjectives and minor replacements really make Whitman the most dreary writer known to mankind.

After that misquote, I am sure he already is.

What would be worse (and even alot more humorous) is if she just lifted the pinata up out of the childrens reach each time they swung.

"Oh ...you missed again...how sad...you're gonna need some candy to keep your strength up, too bad you cant get any..."

This makes me want to become a kindergarten teacher.

"Oh look children! Billy drew a picture of a...of a....ummm...he drew a picture of a molten turd about to eat his emaciated, malnourished stick figure family! Wow, Billy! You're going places!"

As you can tell, I don't celebrate mediocrity. :P

The door moves, so it's probably #2. Sanding helped a little bit, but I suspect we'll either have to rehang the door eventually, or get a new one (it was bulging where I sanded it...interpret that how you will).

has the humidt fluctuated considerably in your neck of the woods? I have expereincd door jam issues like this for two reasons in late winter:

1) The door is simply frozen shut. literally frozen shut.
2) the door is experiencing warping issues because of humidity and temperature fluctuations.
If its #1, I hope you have some food until the spring thaw. if its #2, I dont think sanding will help much. Also check to make sure the hinges are working correctly.

Handyman...out!

Nah, she wasn't one of those empty-minded students. I think she was really focused on her writing and thus went the candy.

Makes you wonder about that whole "walking and chewing" theory, though.

Heh. Thinking back to high school and my more recent college exposure, I can vividly see some chic who chews her gum with her mouth open. Possibly occasionally making small bubbles and popping it with her mouth. Mindlessy chomping away while staring at her paper she is barely aware of existing except in the most instinctual of senses.

The sound of scribble, chomp is suddenly interrupted by...
"plop"....' and the silent waggle of a pencil trying in vain to sway to a previously teenage rythm.

I bet the gum on her paper is the one thing that caught her attention in class the most that day.

Good stuff, Felix. I chuckled after reading that. Hopefully you will have many more good days while there. May your tenure be long and prosperous as well as drama free.
