The list of things I shouldn’t buy 2008
And my attempt to purge them from my system by writing about them.
- Digital Camera- My current camera is an older model Sony something or other that’s kind of slow and uses an obsolete memory stick.
Argument against: My current camera works. - Work Laptop- Something small and light might be useful than the thing I lug to work.
Argument against: The current laptop works. - Samurai Army- Cheaper than the above two options, painting a samurai army would allow me to play historical wargames.
Argument against: I wouldn’t paint it anytime soon. - Portable hard-drive- Cheaper than buying a work laptop.
Argument against: I’d either lose or not use the thing due to some inconvenient thing or another. - Cool expensive board game- Do I really need a reason? There are some really neat board games out there.
Argument against: That would mean inviting people into the house or, you know, socializing. - New man bag- It would be big enough to carry, oh I don’t know, a new laptop.
Argument against: I’d have to buy the new laptop.
Of course this means that when I go to Gencon I’ll be carrying a new man bag to hold my new digital camera. Back at the hotel room, I will turn on the new laptop and transfer the pictures to the new portable hard drive. After that I’d invite people into the room to play a new board game and show off my Samurai army.
It’s inevitable.
