Today I’m trying to get my PS2 to boot when my wife calls.
What are you doing, she asks.
Trying to play, I say.
Are you lying on the floor pathetically resetting that thing for hours and hours?
No, I say getting up, I’m standing up.So she tells me something I’m supposed to remember later (good thing it’s not later as I write this) and finishes off with, And don’t play any stories.
Stories?
And then I get it.
She watches me play Disgaea all the time. And in Disgaea there are two main things you can do. You can level your characters and their equipment through various battle modes (two of the characters are even named after my brothers) or you can try to finish the story.
My wife loves the story.
So I’m not allowed to advance the story unless she’s in the room, watching me play, which is awesome. There’s a beautiful woman on the couch and a controller in my hand.
If I’m really lucky, there’s also a plate of cookies in front of me.
