Chased from the living room again

In the third quarter, when the Bears were leading 16-7, Reggie Bush caught a pass and sprinted up the field for an 88 yard touchdown, bringing the Saints within 2.

My wife told me it was my fault because I was watching the game, so I retreated to the office.

But it wasn’t a retreat! Oh no, for I was actually NOT supposed to be watching the football game at all. In fact, I was supposed to be working on my library research, my lesson plans, and grading essays. But since I was officially ousted from the Bears game, I got to play the Internets!

This was me:

Internets! I command you to play! Games! Stuff!

*Taps keyboard*

Play!

Anyway, the Bears built up enough of a lead that I was allowed back from my exile. In fact, we watched a good deal of that Colts vs. Pats game as well.

I never knew that married life would mean that I’d ever watch so much football with interest. I think I’ve watched five football games this year, four of them in the post-season. I think that’s five more than I’ve watched in the past five years total.

Now it’s time to see if the wife will play in an online role-playing game with me! As orks! And trolls!

Marriage is all about sharing interests that the other person wants absolutely nothing to do with and then changing their mind about things. But don’t quote me on that.
